NEW BUSINESS

It was decided to purchase a Peace plant for the Deml family for the death of Susan’s father.

A great big THANK YOU to Mike Preziotti for the wonderful job on the website.  We couldn’t do it without him.  In fact, in the year that the website has been up, we totaled over 1,000 visitors!!

Spring hunt committee has been meeting and purchasing prizes and seed coins.  Wesley Jacobs and I went to the coin show at the Virginia Beach Pavilion and got a great deal from a fellow who wanted to unload his inventory.  We walked away with Barber dimes and quarters, Buffalo nickels, V nickels, and some great prizes towards the Kid’s hunt.  Also, if you have any silver you want to turn in for cash, see Steve Warren.    He will be happy to work with you.

OLD BUSINESS

12 Yellow raffle ticket packets are still available.   Do you think we can sell the entire 1,000 that we ordered?  Sure would be great if we did.  Take a book at the next meeting.  If you have sold your tickets, please bring in the stubs and money.

CLUB COIN CLUES

#1. The coin lies in a Virginia Beach park.  The first word in the name is the first word in the name of Shakespeare’s hometown.  The second word is the last name of a famous SNL player who rose to fame in several movies.  After putting the name together, do like any Civil War general would do.  Search there first.

#2. The playground is where children play…but if you believed cartoons, what would dogs go to first?  Go to theses and head east.  The treasure lies on top.

#3.  Go south on Kempsville Road in VA Beach.  Look for the tall water tower.  Turn left on Minden Road.  See the playground on the left.  Follow Clue #1 and the clue #2.

#4.  Get in your car. Drive to VA Beach. Find Kempsville Road, drive south. After you cross Providence Road, turn left on Minden. You will see a park on your left. Drive up to the playground. Get out of your car and walk through the playground to the row of trees located right behind it. Turn right (East) and walk straight up on the top of the mound. The club coin is located at the center of the long mound.

May 17, 2008 Open Hunttt

The Spring Hunt Committee needs your help to ensure great prizes at the hunt.  For a quick fundraiser,   we decided to put on a raffle with all of the proceeds going to prizes for the hunts.  1st prize is $100.00,  2nd prize is $50.00,  and 3rd prize is $25.00.  The club member who sells the most raffle ticket wins a 1 oz silver round.  Raffle tickets are $1.00 for 1 ticket and $5.00 for 6 tickets.  Sherry Ferguson is in charge of the raffle.  She will have the tickets at the January meeting.  Help us out and sell a book or two of 25 tickets.
