Other Club News

Welcome to our new member Carl Jenkins, he joined at the October meeting.  We had a great presentation from Steve Warren about relic hunting in the Midwest and West.  He had lots of insightful hints and great finds to share.   Thanks Steve for making so many trips to and from your car to cart all of your stuff in to share with the club!  That was a great presentation, thanks for your effort!

As far as the meeting room goes, we are unsure where the meeting will be held after December.   We can meet at the Bayside Library April, May, and June, but not January, February, or March.  If anyone has any connections about a multipurpose kind of room for our monthly meeting, PLEASE contact Gary Gray as soon as possible.  The idea of jumping around every few months for our meeting sounds confusing and we may loose members.  Please help out if you can…..(a church, business, anything)

We discussed the Christmas party. The location is uncertain, but we know we will not all fit at the Bayside Library.  An alternate location is needed quickly, please call any club officer with information about an alternate location you know about, thank you.  The Christmas gift donation at the Christmas party, with a lot of discussion, it was decided with a majority vote that we would give gifts to the Catholic Charities.  We will also be donating a canned food item(s) to the food drive at Thalia Baptist Church.  It was a lively and informative meeting, one not to be missed!  Hopefully see you at the next meeting.

It is re-election time in the club.  If anyone is interested in taking their turn at the top table or any other position in the club, please call one of the officers.  Bob, Ina, Jim, Gary, and myself have volunteered to stay in our current positions if need be.  Please if you are all interested, please step forward and take your turn at the top table.

Fall Hunt

The fall hunt was great.  There were 2 seeded hunts and lots and lots of tokens.  Great job Nancy, thanks again for all of your coordinating and effort!  I especially enjoy all of the unusual tokens. There were a lot of onlookers wondering what we were doing digging so frantically on the beach.  I think a great time was had by all!  If you didn’t make it this year, put it on your schedule for next year and come and join the fun!

*I apologize in advance if this information is wrong for the 1st place of the Coin category, I couldn’t quite make out the name on the judges sheet.  I think it is right, but I’m not sure?????

**I’m attaching the latest version of the roster in Excel.  If you cannot open it, let me know and I will get a paper copy, just like the mailed folks. If you want to print out your own copy, you have to highlight the area you want to print and set it as your print area.  Using the file menu, scroll down to “print area” and select “set print area”, and then you can preview and print your report.  Good luck!
