Hunted Out?

We have all heard that a site is "hunted out". One such site is a favorite park in Suffolk, VA. The park consists of trails, dog run, tennis courts, tot lot and more. I enjoy hunting this park as parking is close and the forest is not too dense that working through is impossible. So, it was on a crisp January day in 2025 with a little snow on the ground that I took a couple hours to hunt this park. About 1 hour into a 3 hour hunt I swung over a weak but solid signal. After I dug my hole and searched through the pile of dirt i came across a ring. Since it was covered in dirt I had to wait until I got home to uncover my find. Low and behold I had removed a lady's silver ring. It was tiny with a floral pattern on the outside and the word sterling along with a maker's mark on the inside. To my surprise this ring was manufactured by a company out of Providence, RI named Uncas in the early to mid 1902's.

The moral of the story.......... Don't let anyone tell you a site is "hunted out"
